1099 Preparation Made Easy (& Free!)
If you have a company with less than 25 contractors, feel free to used this spreadsheet to prepare your 1099s easily and accurately.
Enter information in the Yellow highlighted fields then hit 'print'!
The printouts are formated to the line up with the 1009 and 1096 forms provided by the IRS. IRS forms are multi-part, but they're free, so who's complaining! Just break the forms apart and run them thru your printer.
You're 1099s (to be mailed to the the SS office) MUST be printed on paper with certain red ink, so you have to either order to the forms from the IRS, or buy them at a local office supply store.
This is the spreadsheet we use internally, to prepare 1099s for our clients. It's very low-tech, but it's effective. Feel free to use it if your like.
